The Kansas Department of Health and Environment has issued a boil water advisory for the city of Conway Springs, in Sumner County.
A line break caused a loss of pressure in the city’s water system, and that has raised concerns over possible bacterial contamination. Residents in Conway Springs are urged to boil water for one minute before drinking it or using it in food preparation. If tap water appears dirty, residents should let the water run until it clears. Residents are also urged to dispose of ice cubes and avoid using ice from an automatic icemaker.
The advisory will stay in effect until health officials determine that conditions in the water system are safe.
