A moped rider was killed in a crash Thursday evening.
Police were called to the intersection in Mclean and Walker, just south of Lincoln, around 6 p.m. They found a 69-year-old man on a moped had been ejected during the crash, which involved an SUV. The rider was taken to a hospital in critical condition and later passed away. His name has not been made public.
According to police, the moped rider was headed east on Walker when he hit the SUV, which was being driven south on Mclean. Officials do not believe speed or impairment were factors in the crash. An investigation is ongoing, and anyone who saw the crash is asked to call police at 316-

This is the 7th fatal crash in Wichita this year.
