Wichita police are still looking for a missing two-year-old girl, but they now say they don’t believe the girl is in any danger.
Anyla James has been with her father for several weeks, according to new information received by detectives Monday. The father and mother have legal custody, so police were were not investigating the case as a kidnapping. Police captain Brent Allred said the mother reported that the father made concerning comments when he picked the girl up.
Police say they have had conflicting information on the case and they are still asking for the community’s help in finding her so officers can check on her welfare. Detectives will continue to gather information from all of the involved parties to get a complete story on what occurred.
