Welcome back from the long holiday weekend – I hope you found some time for some appreciation, rememberance and time to do something that made happy. Happy, is the complete opposite of the woman in today’s story “that’s trending”. It’s also a story I have pretty strong feelings about.
A woman is going viral after posting her video on Tiktok about how she and her new fiance were flying 1st class on a United flight when he got bumped back to coach.
9.3M views and counting later, you can imagine the comments section of her video was pretty spicy
The airline issued a statement that said: “The seats we normally reserve for crew members to take their required rest breaks weren’t working on this flight, so we unfortunately had to reassign two customers to Premium Plus rather than cancel the flight. We understand the customer’s frustration and are refunding the price difference for their seats and giving them each a $1,500 (£1,200) certificate for future travel.”
Okay…4 things:
- Danielle uses “It’s Not Fair” in her video. That’s a trigger for me. Life isn’t fair, I’m sorry, but it just isnt’
- I’ve never flown first class, I’ve always wanted to. You can bet that if I, like Danielle and her fiance, had paid for those tickets fair and square, I’m not moving
- A refund of the difference and $1500 vouchers for future flights. Can you satisfaction be bought and after this experience future travel with this airline is pretty unlikely
- Finally, I’ve flown from Heathrow to Dallas – a 10 hour flight – in Economy. Not economy plus, economy….and I slept just fine. If you expect the passengers to sleep back there, you can too.
