Today, JJ’s Star Spangled Salute, honors the group of Veterans who walked across the stage Saturday at the University of Chicago. One Veteran in particular, surrounded by family and full of pride, had another story to tell. Ricky Holder, a U.S. Navy Veteran spent 10-years in the foster care system, separated from family. All the adversity and his service led to this day that he was able to share with that family. He hopes to to create a child welfare system that will make sure what happened to him, doesn’t happen to other families. Congratulations on your diploma Ricky and THANK YOU for your service.
