Today’s Star Spangled Salute honors US Army veteran Mitchell Reno who was one of the 14 veterans who participated in the “Trail To Zero” in New York City. The 14 veterans rode on horse back, joined by the NYPD’s mounted unit for this annual event. The Trail To Zero is a 20 mile ride where the destination is awareness and healing. The 20 miles represents the number of veteran lives lost each day when those veterans take their own lives. The ride also highlights the equine rehabilitation program, BraveHearts, which Mitchell admits, saved his life. Thank you Mitchell and the 13 other veteran riders for your service.
