It wasn’t in Madagascar, it was in Springfield, MO. Police were in pursuit of a lemur through a city park. The animal was able to stay just in front of pursuing officers. They tried everything – including calling the lemur like you would do any other pet. The animal was on the run. The animal looked like it was going straight to a woman before sidestepping her. Another civilian jumped into help. Bodycam video shows it all. The chase, the attempts at capture with the towel, a guy trying to dance his way in front of the primate. You can watch the adventure below.
The animal’s owners reported it missing, and were later reunited with it. HOWEVER, a city ordinance bans having wild animals as pets. So, they won’t get it back. The lemur is with a local wildlife rescue agency where it will be “well cared for and loved.”
