Today, JJ’s Star Spangled Salute honors Army Veteran Daniel Martin. Entering the military at 17, Martin served as a supply specialist. As he tells it, he enlisted as a boy and left a man, experiencing some traumatic episodes along the way. “So many of the peacetime soldiers won’t even advocate for themselves in any way because they think they have to be a combat Veteran,” said Martin. “But we Veterans all have our struggles.” Thanks to the Veteran Justice Outreach program he is now the lead carpenter at the West Los Angeles VA and takes pride in fixing things and making the hospitial beautiful for patients, staff and visitors. He also makes time to mentor other Veterans to help with their struggles. Thank you for the pride you take in your work Daniel and THANK YOU for your service.
