A Wichita man has been sentenced to five years in federal prison in a case where he was accused of dealing drugs from his hotel room.
Federal prosecutors said 36-year-old Alexander Schultz had pleaded guilty to one count of possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.
Last February, Sedgwick County sheriff’s investigators learned that Schultz was selling drugs out of his hotel room in Wichita. They arrested him on an outstanding warrant and searched his vehicle. They discovered baggies of blue pills that tested positive for fentanyl and also seized methamphetamine, two firearms, cash and marijuana. In the hotel room they found methamphetamine, crack cocaine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia, and they also found a rifle.
The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office and the Wichita Police Department investigated the case.
