The Kansas Department of Transportation has reopened an exit ramp that had been closed Thursday at Wichita’s North Junction.
The ramp from southbound I-135 to eastbound K-96 was closed after crews found washouts under the structure of the ramp. The soil had been oversaturated by recent winter storms, and the ramp was closed as a precautionary measure.
KDOT said the ramp was shored up and filled with flowable material, and it was reopened Friday morning.
