Officials at Kansas State University reported a cybersecurity incident Tuesday that disrupted some network systems as students returned to campus for the spring semester.
The university took several systems offline, including VPN, K-State Today emails, and videos on Canvas or Mediasite. The systems will be offline until further notice as officials investigate the disruption.
In a statement on social media, the university said, “Please rest assured that we are dedicating significant resources to bring involved systems back online quickly and safely. Additionally, we have engaged third-party IT forensic experts to assist us in the ongoing investigation efforts.”
Students and staff are urged to follow best practices for cybersecurity, and report any suspicious activity.
