Tickets are on sale for the second Air Capital Hoopfest in Wichita, featuring four of the top high school boys basketball teams in the country.
The event will be held February 15th and 16th in the Garvey Gymnasium at Friends University. Adult single day tickets start at $10 plus fees, and they can be purchased online at visitwichita.com/air-capital-hoopfest
The event features Sunrise Christian Academy, the only Kansas team in the competition. It also features Wasatch Academy of Mt. Pleasant, Utah; Veritas Academy of Los Angeles, California; and Link Academy of Branson, Missouri.
The games will be televised on ESPN+ and on ESPNU
The schedule for Thursday, February 15th will have Veritas vs. Wasatch at 5 p.m. and Link vs. Sunrise Christian at 7 p.m. On Friday, February 16th, Wasatch will play Sunrise Christian at 4:30 p.m. and Link will play Veritas at 6:30 p.m.
Sunrise Christian Academy, Visit Wichita, Friends University and the Wichita Sports Commission are hosting the event.
Several players who will compete at Hoopfest have committed to play at the collegiate level. From Sunrise Christian Academy, David Castillo has committed to Kansas State University and Jeremiah Green and Spencer Ahrens have offers from multiple colleges, including University of Kansas, Kansas State University and more. Labaron Philon of Link Academy has committed to the University of Kansas.
Others with commitments are Jalen Shelley, Link Academy, University of Arkansas; James Brown, Link Academy, University of North Carolina; and John “Juni” Mobley, Jr., Wasatch Academy, Ohio State University.
