1. One of the latest acts of gun violence has shown the ease of access to firearms and how flawed the system is, but that will do nothing to console the familes of those killed. Two officers and a firefighter in Minnesota were shot and killed over the weekend, by a gunman who had lost his right to own firearms.

2. In an effort to reduce the number of opiod overdoes deaths, Narcan vending machines are being installed in Hutch and Wichita. The vending machine in Hutchinson will be at Crossover Recovery Center – 400 W 2nd Ave. The Wichita vending machine is housed at Second Chance/Big Fish Bail Bonds – 705 N. Broadway.

3. Controversy at the rain delayed Daytona 500 yesterday. William Byron was declared the winner, but many believe Alex Bowman should have been declared the winner. With a wreck on the final lap, and the yellow out, NASCAR official declaired Byron the winner but the rules state ”

“When the yellow flag is displayed and/or the caution lights are illuminated (yellow) during the white flag lap, cars will be scored based on their respective track
position” and many of the pictures show Bowman in the lead when the yellow came out.

4. What’s in your wallet? A giant credit card merger. Capital One is set to acquire Discover Financial Services in a $35.3B all-stock deal; Capital One shareholders will own roughly 60% of the combined company when the deal closes, while Discover shareholders will own roughly 40%

5. and a man is suing Powerball saying he is owed $340 million in winnings when his numbers were accidentally displayed on the Powerball website.  Problem is, those numbers on the website were wrong.  The real winning numbers were drawn live and did not match his ticket. Odds of this man winning are 1 in good luck with that, let me know how that works out for you.
