A supertall skyscraper is one step closer to reality in Oklahoma City. The developer of the Boardwalk at Bricktown says he has secured financing for the project.
Plans for the project include a 19-hundred-foot-tall skyscraper that would become the tallest building in the country if constructed. The project has an estimated cost of $1.5 billion.
Scot Matteson of Matteson Capital said the goal is to start construction by the end of summer on a four-acre property in Oklahoma City. The project includes a 1,900 foot tall skyscraper with hotels, condos and retail businesses.
The Oklahoma City Planning Commission will have a public hearing on April 11th and the City Council plans a hearing in June. If the project is not approved, Matteson said he will go back to an original plan for a 350-foot tower.
