Opening statements are set to begin in New York in the hush money criminal trial involving former President Donald Trump.
The 12-person jury is now set and will hear from prosecutors and defense lawyers in the case where Trump is accused of falsifying business records in order to cover up alleged hush money payments made right before the 2016 election.
Potential witnesses during the trial could include adult film star Stormy Daniels, Trump’s former lawyer Michael Cohen and the former President himself.
Manhattan’s Democratic District Attorney said he will challenge Donald Trump’s credibility if he takes the stand. Alvin Bragg has said he will bring up Trump’s other legal battles, including the civil judgment against him for defaming writer E. Jean Carroll in her sexual assault case.
