A Wichita man has been charged with attempted first degree murder in the shooting of a Goddard teenager last weekend.
A hearing was held Wednesday in Sedgwick County District Court for 47-year-old Ruben Contreras. His bond was set at $300,000 and his next court appearance was scheduled for May 28th.
Sedgwick County deputies arrested Contreras after a shooting Saturday, May 11th in the parking lot of a Walmart store at Kellogg and 183rd Street West. An 18-year-old was found inside a crashed car with a gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital with a critical injury and was later upgraded to stable condition.
