A man was pulled from a garbage truck Friday morning in west Wichita.
It happened around 4:30 a.m. in the 600 block of South West Street. The man was apparently inside of a dumpster that a crew had emptied into their truck.
One of the crew heard the man’s cries for help and called 911. Firefighters were able to use a ladder truck to reach the man and pull him to safety.
He was taken to the hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries. It’s unclear yet how the man ended up in the dumpster.
