A record-breaking Hurricane season is on it’s way. Forecasters are watching a tropical wave expected to form in the Caribbean- but it doesn’t look like it will develop into anything significant.
This comes as NOAA issued a prediction for the most aggressive hurricane forecast ever including 17-25 named storms, eight to 13 hurricanes and four to seven major Cat 3 or stronger storms.
The forecast said the upcoming Atlantic hurricane season is expected to have above-normal activity due to a confluence of factors, including near-record warm ocean temperatures in the Atlantic Ocean, development of La Nina conditions in the Pacific, reduced Atlantic trade winds and less wind shear, all of which tend to favor tropical storm formation.
