A Wichita man has pleaded guilty to charges in a 2021 nightclub shooting in the Old Town district.

The plea was entered by 25-year-old Keshawn Dawson to reckless second degree murder and six counts of aggravated battery.  He was originally charged with first degree murder.

Prosecutors said Dawson was involved in a disturbance at the Enigma night club on September 7th, 2021.  He was forced to leave the club, but he returned a short time later with a handgun and fired shots through the windows.   The shooting killed 34-year-old Preston Spencer, a well-known bartender at the club, and six other people were injured.

Dawson will be sentenced on July 18th.
