The Kansas Bureau of Investigation said Thursday that remains have been found in rural Marshall County, and they are believed to be a Blue Rapids man who was reported missing earlier this month.

On Wednesday, KBI agents and Marshall County deputies found human remains in an area northwest of Waterville, Kansas, near Sunflower Road and 2nd Road.  The remains are believed to be those of 36-year-old Camoran M. Shoptese, who was last seen July 4th at a home in Blue Rapids.

Agents found evidence indicating that Shoptese was murdered, and the KBI said a person of interest is in custody on an unrelated charges.   The investigation is continuing, and anyone with information is asked to call the KBI at 1-800-KS-CRIME.
