Kansas transportation officials said an exit ramp on Kellogg at I-135 will be closing Tuesday in Wichita.
The ramp from eastbound Kellogg to northbound I-135 will shut down during the daytime hours to allow crews to work on milling, patching and a concrete overlay on each side of the bridge. The work will be done from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Motorists should follow the signed detour on southbound I-135 to exit 5A and East Lincoln Street, then turn right on northbound I-135 to west Kellogg exit 5B.
Work on this bridge is one of four phases in a bridge rehabilitation project scheduled this year at the I-135/U.S. 54 interchange. The bridge work will take place consecutively. This will be the third phase of the bridge and is set to conclude in October, then the fourth bridge phase and closures will begin. It is estimated the last bridge in the four-phase project will conclude by late November, conditions permitting.
