Wichita police have arrested a man wanted for firing shots at a public park in north central Kansas.
The Kansas Bureau of Investigation said a 46-year-old Minneapolis man fired shots at Markley Grove Park in Minneapolis around 8:20 a.m. on Saturday, June 22nd. The Minneapolis Swimming Pool manager heard three shots and called 911. As Ottawa County deputies and Minneapolis police began to investigate, more shots were heard. A man came out of his home and fired shots at the officers and Kansas Highway Patrol troopers who arrived at the scene. The officers returned fire and the man was hit several times.
The man was taken to a Wichita hospital for treatment and he was arrested Wednesday when he was released from the hospital. The man was taken to the Mitchell County jail and the KBI is investigating the shooting.
