Wichita’s Exploration Place museum will begin a new exhibit Friday with larger-than-life displays of the world’s best-known toys.    Toytopia will run through January 12th.

Kids will be able to interact with the world’s largest Etch A Sketch, climb into a life-size Monopoly car and play with vintage arcade games. This exhibit offers a unique opportunity for parents to share their favorite childhood toys in an engaging, hands-on environment.

Exploration Place president and CEO Adam Smith said in a press release that the exhibit presents a strong sense of nostalgia and families will enjoy it as the holiday season approaches.

The highlights of the exhibit include:

·       The world’s largest Etch A Sketch

·       Life-size versions of classic games like Monopoly, Battleship and Connect 4

·       Life-size dollhouse for pretend play

·       A giant Jack in The Box with interactive sides

·       Oversized piano from the movie Big to stomp out your favorite tunes

·       Robotic arm challenges, skill-based toys and vintage arcade games

·       A large LEGO wall for building and play

·       The Toytopia Tower with activities on all sides

·       Displays showcasing toys through the decades and their history

Toytopia was created by Stage 9 Exhibits and distributed by Exhibits Development Group. Locally, the exhibit is sponsored by the Shaw Family Foundation, Home2 Suites, Andy’s Frozen Custard, Flint Hills Group, Schammerhorn and South Central Commercial Mechanical.
