Wichita’s source for drinking water, Cheney Lake dropped another six inches within the last month. The City of Wichita says it would take nearly 26 billion gallons to refill the reservoir. The latest reading from the Army Corps of Engineers puts the lake 8.49 below normal. That means it would take approximately 236 Century IIs worth of water to get back up to normal. Wichita continues to operate with Stage 2 drought restrictions.
