Sedgwick County officials have identified a woman who died after an accident Saturday afternoon at Cook Airfield east of Derby.
Officials said 37-year-old Amanda Gallagher of Wichita was taking photos at the Air Capital Drop Zone on the airfield at 143rd Street East and Meadowlark, when she backed into a moving propeller on an aircraft. The accident happened shortly after 2:30 p.m.
Gallagher was taken to a hospital in very critical condition, but she died a short time later.
The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office is investigating.
