Cowley County officials said an Oklahoma man was killed early Sunday in a one-vehicle crash west of Winfield.
Deputies were called to a report of a crash around 4:30 a.m. on U.S. Highway 160 near 61st Road. A pickup was traveling east when it missed a curve and went into a ditch on the north side of the highway. The driver, identified as 42-year-old Douglass Dee Caldwell of Ponca City, Oklahoma, was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
