Today, we salute Marine Veteran Anne Scott. When 9/11 changed the world, it changed the direction of Anne’s life who was a freshman at St. Louis University pursuing an aviation major. After a visit with the Marine recruiter, her plans changed from flying for Southwest Airlines to being a Marine. Following her graduation, Scott shipped off to Officer Candidate School. It was just as she had anticipated from watching the movies, complete with the yelling and the encouragement to make good choices. One good choice she made during her service was meeting her future husband during basic. Up next was flight school because she said she always wanted to be a helicopter pilot, it’s where she learned to fly the CH-53, the largest helicopter the Marine Corps offers. Anne was deployed once to Afghanistan, saying getting shot at was no fun. Today, Anne runs a successful business and loves being a Mom, which she says is 150% harder than being a Marine. Thank you for sharing your story Anne and THANK YOU for your service.
