The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office said deputies have arrested a woman who was being sought after an assault during a traffic stop.

Deputies have taken 22-year-old Nevaeh Ann Thompson into custody for aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer.

The Sheriff’s Office said a car was stopped around 3 a.m. on Sunday, March 2nd near Lincoln and Rock Road, and the deputy talked with the driver, identified as Thompson.  The driver told the deputy that she may have warrants for her arrest, and before being taken into custody, she got back in her car and tried to get away.  The deputy followed her into the vehicle but she shifted the car into drive and dragged the deputy for a brief time.  The deputy had minor injuries and is expected to make a full recovery.

Thompson’s vehicle was later found abandoned in the 7300 block of East Indianapolis.
