We made it another month. Here are a few things to look forward to in May . . .
1. In sports: The NBA and NHL playoffs continue. The Kentucky Derby is Saturday, then the Preakness on May 17th. The PGA Championship starts May 15th. The Indy 500 is May 25th, and the French Open starts the same day.
2. In movies: “Thunderbolts” hits theaters tomorrow. So does the Alec Baldwin western “Rust”, more than three years after the tragic on-set shooting. Also, “Friendship” with Tim Robinson and Paul Rudd opens this month and “Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning” lands May 23rd, along with the new live-action “Lilo & Stitch”.
3. On TV: David Spade’s new stand-up special hits Prime next Tuesday, the ACM Awards are next Thursday, season two of “Poker Face” hits Peacock the same day, season two of “Conan O’Brien Must Go” hits Max, also next Thursday season four of “Welcome to Wrexham” hits FX the 15th, “Murderbot” with Alexander Skarsgard premieres on AppleTV the 16th, season five of “Lego Masters” hits Fox on the 19th, Sarah Silverman’s new special arrives on Netflix May 20th, season eight of “Big Mouth” lands May 23rd, season eight of “Rick and Morty” starts the 25th, the American Music Awards are the 26th on CBS and season 20 of “America’s Got Talent” premieres on NBC May 27th.
4. And finally, the holidays: The big ones are Cinco de Mayo on Monday, Mother’s Day on the 11th and Memorial Day on the 26th.
But also Star Wars Day is “May the Fourth”, National Teachers’ Day is the 6th, National Mimosa Day is the 16th, Armed Forces Day is the 17th and National Hamburger Day is May 28th.
