Touched by his dedication, Maria started a GoFundMe page on TikTok with a goal of $5,000, not knowing what Mykale’s post-high school plans were. When Maria told him and his mother that strangers had already raised $6,000, they were brought to tears. As of this morning, the GoFundMe page has raised over $182,000, with messages from around the world like “Congratulations, Mykale! Your genuine work ethic and dedication are inspiring and will take you far in life.” The life-changing generosity of strangers, THAT’S AWESOME.
