Today, I Salute Navy Vietnam Veteran Jacky Lynn Branstetter. Mr. Branstetter recently passed away while on the medical/surgical unit at Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center. Today at 11 am, The Dole VA Medical Center, with cooperation and assistance from Wulf-Ast Mortuary in Garden Plain, the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association, the American Legion Riders, and the VFW Riders, will provide Mr. Branstetter with appropriate honors and burial. This service is consistent with the Final Mile Promising Practice, which establishes a protocol initiated when a Veteran passes with no known next of kin. This practice ensures that all Veterans are honored not only in life but also in death.
