Today, the AWESOME is in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. April Schmitt was returning home from a business trip and was collecting her luggage from the carousel when her hand caught an edge, pinching her finger. She didn’t think much of it until she was on her way home, in the Starbuck drive-thru and noticed that her diamond engagement ring was missing something, the diamond. All she saw of the 30-year-old ring was the 4-prong setting, no stone. She immediately turned back to the airport and started searching the baggage carousel armed only with her phone’s flashlight. On her hands and knees, she soon caught the attention of airport staff who stopped what they were doing and aided in the search. With a lot of persistence, hours later the gem was found. This all happened on Friday the 13th, a special day for April, because her husband Eric proposed to her on Friday, March 13th, 1992. They later married on Friday the 13th and his parents were married on Friday the 13th…and THAT’S AWESOME.
