Today, I salute Marine Corps Veteran Juan Cornejo. Juan served for 8 years and through three deployments before returning to civilian life. That return came with PTSD and traumatic brain injury. Of all the things that helped him, it was gardening in his backyard that he gave the most credit to. Juan said getting his hands dirty in the soil helped him be present with his family. Digging in the ground helps him stay grounded and keeps the past in the past, and lets him focus on the here and now. Juan is now inspiring others to find healing in gardening, and he is also actively involved with the Wounded Warrior Project. Thank you for helping other Veterans, Juan, and THANK YOU for your service.
