Today, the AWESOME is in Omaha, Nebraska. Chef Jeremy McCoy has always dreamed of owning his own food truck. His goal for the food truck was simple: share his love of cooking with as many people as possible. Little did Jeremy know that his small act of kindness would water the seed of his dream. In July, he offered a police officer a plate of food while he was on patrol. That turned into a friendship that led to the Omaha Police Officers Association sharing Jeremy’s GoFundMe. Currently, it has raised over $22,000–enough to make Jeremy’s dream a reality, which brought tears to his eyes. Jeremy said, “Food is not just a meal to me. It is a way to connect, to heal, and to inspire.”
