Today, the AWESOME is in Detroit, Michigan. Curtis Dixon was on the verge of getting his electricity shut off and was on his way to the pawn shop. Outside the shop, he saw a man who appeared to be blind. The stranger asked for some change, and Curtis promised he’d give him a couple of dollars after he went inside and pawned his wedding ring to keep his lights on. What happened next was life-changing for Curtis. It turns out the blind man was actually Zach Dereniowski — better known as “MDMotivator” — a social media influencer who creates powerful moments of kindness for strangers, and he had a few surprises for Curtis. First, he paid to keep his lights on, then curtis received $5,000 from Dereniowski, $2,500 from the gold shop, a brand-new car, and, eventually, an incredible $100,000 raised by people around the world who were moved by his generosity. When asked why he helps, Zach says, because God tells him to, and THAT’S AWESOME.
