Today, the AWESOME is found in Alberton, Canada. Daniel Drouin posted on social media recently that his family’s home caught fire. Thankfully, his son smelled the smoke at two in the morning and was able to get everyone out safely, including the dogs. As awesome as that is, that’s not the real story. Just weeks after losing his home, Daniel’s $50 raffle ticket, which he had purchased long before the fire to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters, came in as a winner. What did he win? A brand new home. When the executive director called Daniel to tell him the good news, he thought it was a prank. For a dad who’s been through heartbreak and loss, it’s a moment of renewal, hope, and family, and THAT’S AWESOME.
