Today, I salute a U.S. Army Veteran named William. Like many Veterans, William battles PTSD, which made his transition back to civilian life difficult. So much so, there were days he didn’t want to leave the house. If not for his wife, his life may have turned out differently. “It was when I met my wife, and she saw me struggling when I wouldn’t leave the house. And then she was like ‘Hey, babe, you did the hardest job in the world, you need to be a part of the world again,’ so she gave me that extra push I needed, and she’s been my rock,” he said. Then came Sunny’s Dogs, a hot dog food cart founded by William and named after the couple’s son. Now, one hot dog at a time, William is out there, meeting people, engaging in life, living life.
