This weekend, donate and help the Salvation Army take care of your neighbors in need.

 

THE SALVATION ARMY FOOD DRIVE AT SELECT AREA DILLONS LOCATIONS

 

Wichita, KS, September 12, 2025 – The Salvation Army will be hosting a food drive September 12-14 at 6 area Dillons Stores to collect food donations. Food received during the drive will benefit families who visit Wichita Salvation Army pantry locations.

 

The following Dillons locations will have food collection barrels:

· 13415 W. Maple

· 10222 W. 21st Street

· 3707 N. Woodlawn

· 2244 N. Rock Road

· 10515 W. Central

· 3211 S. Seneca St.

Staff and volunteers will be on hand during select times, September 12, from 10 am-4 pm to raise awareness about the drive.

 

Customers shopping for their groceries are encouraged to pick up a few extra items to donate. The most needed items include:

· Canned vegetables

· Canned fruits

· Canned meats

· Peanut butter

· Jelly

· Pasta

· Pasta Sauce

· Cereal or oatmeal

· “Helper” meal kits

*No glass jars, please

 

Food collection barrels will be conveniently located at the front of the store so customers can shop for needed food items and drop food donations off as they exit.

 

“We are grateful to Dillons for hosting our food drive at six of their locations as part of their Hunger Action Month,” said Dulcy Palnau, Associate Director of Emergency Social Services for The Salvation Army. “The collective impact of donations received will mean our pantry shelves will be stocked and families will have more nourishing meals on the table.”

 

The Salvation Army has 3 Wichita food pantries. If someone needs food assistance, they can call 316-263-2769 to be directed to The Salvation Army pantry closest to their home.
