Today, the AWESOME is in Tampa, Florida. It’s a story that could have ended badly if not for the loyalty and care of a family pitbull. 2-year-old Jaylen went missing early Tuesday morning after his parents tucked him into bed around 11 p.m. the night before. When they woke up, their worst nightmare unfolded — Jaylen was gone. His parents immediately called 911 around 6:40 a.m., prompting a massive search. Thankfully, the search ended with the best possible outcome. A nearby resident found Jaylen — safe and sound — with the family’s pit bull right by his side. Jaylen’s mom said the dog protected him the whole time, a true testament to the strong bond between kids and pets, and THAT’S AWESOME.
