Today, the AWESOME is in New York City. Like most kids, when I was 14, I would fold paper into paper airplanes. Miles WU is not like most kids. He has been folding origami patterns that he believes could one day improve disaster relief. Miles has been folding origami for more than 6 years and has started creating his own origami patterns. Patterns and designs that can hold 10,000 times their own weight. Miles hopes that one day his designs will be used in deployable structures during disaster relief. All of this just won Miles $25,000 for his research project, and THAT’S AWESOME.
