Today, I salute a Veteran named Robert. Robert, who lives in Idaho Falls, wasn’t expecting much this holiday season. With no family nearby and very limited resources, he planned to quietly get through the holidays the same way he spends most days — making do with what he has and never asking for help. In his humble housing is a chair, bedding that has seen better days, and a coffee table made out of a cardboard box. Though he doesn’t have much other than his pride, he has plenty to give. On Thanksgiving, despite having very little food of his own, Robert offered to share what he had with someone else. The gesture left a lasting impression. That’s when a local tv station and a secret Santa stepped in with gifts as a thank you. Robert was gifted 2 $500 gift cards and $3,000 worth of furniture. Rest comfortably in your new furniture, Robert, and THANK YOU for your service.
