Today, I salute disabled Vietnam Navy Veteran Gregory Ganier. Gregory has experienced firsthand hardship when it comes to home ownership. During the 1980’s recession, he lost his home. It was that struggle that inspired him to launch a pilot program to help other veterans achieve homeownership. Gregory founded Veterans Corner Inc., a nonprofit dedicated to helping veterans overcome barriers to stability and homeownership. He is now seeking to raise $300,000 to build the program’s first home for a Louisiana veteran or a qualifying descendant of a veteran. It’s simple, he’s asking 5,000 Louisianans to donate $5 per month for a year or make a one-time donation of $60 to fund the pilot home program. The program offers zero down payments and a fixed 2% interest rate paid directly to Veterans Corner. Ganier said the organization will do everything possible to never foreclose on a home. Thank you, Gregory, for helping other Veterans, and THANK YOU for your service.
