Today, I salute llama expert, Navy veteran, and former commercial abalone diver Al Ellis. Ellis enlisted in the Navy when he was 17, a role he downplays today because he served during peacetime between the Korean and Vietnam wars. He worked on a salvage ship, and that’s where he first developed a passion for diving. Fast forward to today, and Al wants to do something for other Veterans. Al had always imagined his 207-acre Sublette County ranch would one day become a sanctuary for veterans. Now, that vision is taking shape after Ellis passed the deed for his property to the Boulder Crest Foundation.
