Today, I salute the DAV-supported program, Camp Corral. For the 14th year, Camp Corral will return this summer to bring joy, fun, and support to the children of those who served and sacrificed. From June through August, Camp Corral will host 23 weeklong summer camps across the country for children ages 8 to 15 whose parent is a disabled veteran or who died in service. DAV proudly champions Camp Corral’s mission to empower children who share in the sacrifices of military service. Through DAV’s Just B Kids scholarship program, over 7,700 children of ill, injured, or fallen veterans and service members have attended Camp Corral programs at no cost to their families. This special camp gives children the chance to “Just B Kids” while making friends, learning coping skills, and creating memories that last a lifetime.
