Today, the AWESOME is in New Jersey. Koko, a small dog from Glenn Heights, TX, vanished two years ago. On March 4, she was found wandering near a shopping center in Clark, New Jersey, over 1,500 miles from home. A local resident alerted the Clark Township Police Department, and Officer Nick Kurus brought Koko to the station. Using a microchip scanner, they identified her owners, who were shocked to learn she was alive and so far away. The family immediately arranged to fly to Jersey. In the interim, the police cared for Koko, providing baths, treats, and comfort. On March 7, the reunion took place, with Koko running straight to her owner.
