Today, I salute Navy Veteran Lonnie Bedwell. Lonnie lost his sight in a 1997 hunting accident but refused to let blindness define him. He raised his three daughters while working in construction, and later embraced extreme sports. Bedwell became the first person to kayak the Colorado River, and he summited Mount Everest in May 2023. He’s now on the verge of completing the Explorers Grand Slam, which means climbing the highest peaks on all seven continents and reaching both poles. He only has the North Pole left.
