Today, the AWESOME is in Fort Worth, Texas. A routine Meals on Wheels delivery turned life-saving when 19-year-old volunteer Alekzander Dzivak arrived at Ms. Lana’s Fort Worth home. Inside, she had collapsed from a diabetic episode and couldn’t move. Using her doorbell camera, she urgently told Dzivak to call 911. Acting quickly, he contacted emergency services and stayed connected, calming her until first responders arrived within minutes and stabilized her. Ms. Lana believes his timing saved her life, as she was alone and unable to seek help. The experience deeply impacted both of them, strengthening their bond and reinforcing Dzivak’s passion for volunteering and making a meaningful difference in others’ lives.
