Many aging Veterans can no longer drive and lack reliable transportation, making these free rides essential to their care. Volunteers like Eugene Hoover and Vincent Conigliaro say the role goes beyond transportation, offering companionship and shared understanding. As demand grows, organizers warn some Veterans could miss critical care without help.
