Today, I salute 109-year-old Veteran Arthur Green. Arthur is a lifelong Baltimore Orioles fan, and yesterday he threw out the ceremonial first pitch on Opening Day at Camden Yards, ahead of the team’s 2–1 win over the Twins. Born before the Orioles moved to Baltimore in 1954, Green has witnessed the franchise’s entire history. A veteran of two wars and a dedicated community member, he was honored as the Orioles’ Fan of the Year. This wasn’t his first, first pitch—he also did so at age 106 in 2023, a moment his family called the happiest of his life, now topped by this unforgettable return.
