Today, I salute kayaker Adam Lane. Adam is preparing for a 450-mile solo kayak journey from the Port of Catoosa to the Mississippi River, expected to take 16 to 18 days. Inspired by the loss of a childhood friend and Veteran to suicide. Lane aims to raise awareness about Veteran suicide and support Operation Freedom Outdoors, which offers outdoor experiences for veterans and first responders. He highlights the alarming statistic of 22 Veteran suicides daily and stresses the importance of connection and outreach. Lane hopes his journey encourages others to support Veterans and ensure they never feel alone. Thank you for being a helper, Adam, and to your childhood friend who has gone too soon.
